Rough Guide to Argentine Tango

with Kirsty Bennett

Come and immerse yourself for a weekend in the beautiful world of Argentine Tango with Kirsty of Kijutango, assisted by Iwan Kushka. Tango at its most basic, is a walking dance, with the emphasis on translating the music into your body and connecting with your partner. It is also most importantly, an improvised, creative dance form. It originated in Argentina in the 1880’s. Over the weekend you will learn the core elements of tango. Other practices such as meditation and contact improvisation will be incorporated into the learning experience. The weekend will enable you to dance tango simply, but the dance is inexhaustible and you can go on learning for a lifetime.

Kirsty has been a tango dancer for five years, a Zen Buddhist for over ten years, and also teaches massage, which enables her to present a unique mind/body approach to Argentine tango. For more information visit www.kijutango.co.uk
