Photoshop
with Sam Bland
This course is aimed at photographers who wish to explore the creative
possibilities offered by Adobe Photoshop. Many people are intimidated
by the enormous power and sophistication of this amazing tool. In practice
though, once you have learnt the basics in each area, it reveals itself
as an intuitive, ingenious and fun programme to learn, whether you just
want to make simple edits and corrections to optimise your images for
beautiful prints, or get really creative and tell some photographic fibs!
Areas covered will include: the tools, general image adjustments, strategy
and sequence for retouching, selections, layers and masks, colour spaces
and calibration, printing, and more.

The basics will be covered, so complete beginners are very welcome, but
students should feel comfortable at a computer, and be able to use a mouse,
keyboard, and understand basic menus etc. There will also be plenty of
advanced areas covered, so if you have some experience but would like
to learn more, do come along!
Sam is a former English teacher who has been using Photoshop for six years,
and professionally for the last three. He is also the designer of the
Evolution brochure. He particularly loves demonstrating Photoshop’s
ingeniousness to others.
