Shamanic Practice

Gemma Williams

Shamanism is an ancient practice, found and successfully used in many cultures around the world for thousands of years. By acknowledging the spiritual quality of everything around and within us, the essential aspect of our selves and our lives can be addressed, and it is from within this realm that the healing work takes place. A key belief in all shamanic practice is that for every physical, mental or emotional ill there is a spiritual root. ‘Dis-ease’ is thus approached from the core, with the result of both removing this obstacle and preventing its reoccurrence.

Shamanic Healing

Shamanic healing can include extraction medicine, (working within the realms of spirit, various tools are used to cleanse the spiritual body from any blockages that may be manifesting as illness), and power/soul-retrieval, (facilitating the calling back to one’s forgotten/lost potency of self that which is necessary to overcome and avert dis-ease, depression, disempowerment, and to break the destructive patterns of daily life). These are the two most common cross-cultural methods for shamanic healing.

Shamanic Counselling

Within a series of 6 to 8 sessions, the client will learn to master, through practice and guidance, the classic art of the shamanic journey or ‘soul flight’. Central to any shamanic work, the client will learn to navigate through the shaman’s map where they will find direct access to the true teachers, enabling them to seek guidance and answers to life’s most pressing questions whenever they so chose.
